Measuring student engagement in the digital environment relies on a strategy of triangulating data sources. Exams, discussion participation, and projects are straightforward to assess. Student engagement in other activities that build deep learning includes horizontal learning, self-assessment, practicing skills outside of the formal classroom space, and synthesis linking units, courses, and lived experience with programmatic learning outcomes. Deep understanding is derived from the discovery and synthesis of ways to measure all aspects of student engagement.

Keeping course evaluation windows open through finals week may give students extra time to complete them, but how does it affect scores? This presentation describes the experience of an institution that used statistical analysis of course evaluation data to decide when and how long to keep course evaluation windows open. Presenters will discuss the analysis, how results were used to inform decision-making, and lessons learned.
