Seema Shah-Fairbank is a Professor of Civil Engineering at California State Polytechnic University Pomona. She has a BS in Environmental Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a MS and PhD from Colorado State University in water resources. She is a licensed civil engineering who bring the real-world applications into the classroom. She has been teaching courses at both undergraduate and graduate areas of general civil engineering, environmental engineering and water resource engineering. Student success has been the cornerstone of her academic career, and she continuously strive to support students both inside and outside the classroom.

Her dedication to service is reflected in my involvement across campus. She has served on the University Fee Committee, the Academic Senate as a College Senator, the Academic Affairs Committee, and the General Education Committee. In addition, she currently serves as the Faculty Associate Director for Assessment, a role that builds on my prior work as CPP’s inaugural Director of Assessment and Program Review. Through these positions, she has collaborated with university leaders to advance a culture of assessment and continuous improvement.
