Bio
Dr. Shaniece McGill is an Inglewood, California native. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Science in Higher Education from Walden University, and a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education from Concordia University, Portland.
Dr. McGill currently serves as the Vice Provost of Student Life and Dean of Students at Saybrook University, where she focuses on developing programs and services that drive student retention and success. Her areas of responsibility include student conduct, Title IX, discrimination and harassment, pregnancy and related conditions, student life, and academic advising.
With over 15 years of experience in higher education, Dr. McGill has worked across multiple areas, including student life and events, student development, and financial aid. Her research interests include the first-year college experiences of African American students and retention programs for graduate students. She prides herself on mentorship, her ability to help students develop a sense of advocacy, and setting students up for long-term success.
