Lacking significant endowments, hundreds of smaller independent institutions face declines, reductions and possible closure. The session will examine key elements of this situation and present essential steps to survival through different partnership models. The steps in such a process will be presented ranging from initial acknowledgement of the need to begin to consider partnerships to negotiations and eventual implementation. While finances drive such matters, the session will also focus on human and cultural requirements.
