Dean Hoke is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Edu Alliance Group, an international consulting firm serving colleges and universities in strategic planning, global engagement, and institutional sustainability. A seasoned higher-education executive, consultant, and media professional, Hoke was named a Senior Fellow at the Sagamore Institute and is currently researching The Economic and Social Impact of Small Colleges in Rural Communities. Dean is He is the creator and co-host of Small College America, a national podcast and blog profiling small colleges and the issues that shape their future.
From 2023 to 2025, he served as President/CEO of the American Association of University Administrators (AAUA). Earlier in his career, Hoke held senior communications roles at Khalifa University and the Higher Colleges of Technology in the UAE. Before that, he co-founded the Connected Learning Network, a global e-learning firm, and held executive roles in public broadcasting. His professional service includes board appointments with Urbana University, the United States Distance Learning Association, and Mercy Academy. Hoke writes and speaks widely on small-college sustainability, mergers and alliances, and international higher-education collaboration. He holds an M.S. from the University of Louisville, a B.A. from Urbana University, and an executive certificate from the Wharton School.
