Faculty Mentorship as a Foundation for Success: A Model for Supporting Early Graduate Students
Description
This presentation will provide an overview of the Faculty Mentor Program, implemented in the first two courses of the Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy program at National University. The program was developed to support early master’s students by increasing student engagement through close collaboration between mentors, advisors, and teaching faculty. Since its inception in 2023, the attrition rate in these courses has decreased. Participants in this session will learn how the program is structured, the key challenges faced during its development and implementation, and insights on how to best support student success.
