Bio

Leigh Harris, an alum of the WSCUC Assessment Leadership Academy, serves as the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Education Initiatives at UCLA.  She collaborates with faculty across campus to build innovative interdisciplinary programs for undergraduates, including a newly launched major in Disability Studies and a minor in Food Studies. She also provides administrative leadership for shared-governance committees in the College at UCLA to foster quality curricular programs across the disciplines. Leigh has expertise in inclusive pedagogy and educational assessment alongside writing instruction. She is the former Director of Writing and ESL Programs at UCLA and her teaching has been recognized with a UCLA Distinguished Teaching award.  Leigh received her Ph.D. in English from Yale University, and she has three years of international experience working as an Assistant Dean for Educational Enrichment at the American College of Greece in Athens, Greece.
