Across higher education, budgets are tight and class size averages are increasing while requirements for students to graduate from their schools are steady state. For general and proficiency requirements that students are obliged to fulfil in order to graduate, support for assessment is often unclear and difficult to manage. Using writing requirements as the example, this session will explore ways in which assessment of university requirements can be an opportunity to maintain alignment with best practices and build campus collaborations to ensure a quality education for students. Attendees will have a chance to share from their own experiences with assessment of a range of requirements and identify how to work with existing parameters to enact change within their current frameworks.
