Priya Raman, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Media Effects and Quantitative Methods in the Department of Communication Studies. Her primary teaching responsibilities are in undergraduate and graduate quantitative inquiry, media effects research and design, service learning, the Department’s introductory public speaking course, and the Department’s senior Capstone course. She is the Director of Assessment at San José State University, and is the current Chair of the University’s Accreditation Review Committee (ARC). She represents the College of Social Sciences in the Academic Senate at San José State University. Previously she served as the Chair of the Institutional Review Board (2019-2022), Associate Research Director of the Survey Policy Research Institute, and Faculty-in-Residence for the Center for Faculty Development and eCampus. Her research can be found in the Journal of Intercultural Communication Research, Journal of Family Communication, Howard Journal of Communications, Academic Exchange Quarterly, and Southern Journal of Communication.
