Chris is an associate professor of communication and the Co-Director of the Faculty Collaborative for Teaching Innovation. She served as the Director of Educational Assessment at Santa Clara University for twelve years. She works with SCU faculty on programs and workshops on effective and equitable assignment design, active teaching strategies, ePortfolio project design and implementation, formative and summative methods for assessing student learning. She is a founding member of the SWIRL initiative (Success in Writing, Information, and Research Literacy) that has worked with faculty across the university on assignment design and teaching strategies to improve student writing, critical thinking, and information literacy.
