Dr. Rita Sedani Pesartic is the Dean of General Education for Online Programs at West Coast University. Dr. Sedani holds a Doctorate in Higher and Post-Secondary Education, a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Secondary Education (Mathematics), and a Bachelor of Secondary Education (Mathematics). Dr. Sedani is an experienced academic administrator, instructional designer, and educator in both the public and private sectors.

Dr. Sedani taught high school mathematics for four years and college math, statistics, and first-term experience courses for approximately twenty years. She has experience teaching face-to-face, blended, and online. She has been interested in the unique aspects of online learning and teaching since teaching her first online course in 2009 when her passion for online learning sparked. Dr. Sedani has mentored and coached more than one hundred faculty in the art of online teaching and learning over the last thirteen years. Dr. Sedani is also an experienced instructional designer and course writer, having written and developed nine online and hybrid math and statistics courses.

Dr. Sedani is adept in college administration and data analytics and has a passion for solving problems in higher education using a combination of learning pedagogy, data analysis, and design thinking skills. In her personal life, Dr. Sedani resides in Southern California with her husband, two teenage children, and two dogs. Dr. Sedani is an avid animal rescue advocate, who loves the outdoors, traveling, hiking, and staying active.
