Higher education institutions routinely struggle with sustaining effective systems for program assessment and program review, especially through budget challenges, staff turnover, and changing priorities. This presentation shares a real-world solution: a Microsoft 365–based infrastructure built to track assessment report submissions, program review timelines, funding allocations, report generation, and archival in a single, coherent ecosystem.
The session will:
show how we integrated SharePoint, Teams, Planner, Excel with Power Pivot, and Power BI to support workflows, dashboards, and automated notifications;
describe how we built in documentation and ease-of-transfer so the system is sustainable across personnel transitions;
share lessons learned (pitfalls, scalability, training) and next steps; and
engage participants in envisioning how a similar ecosystem could adapt to their institutional context.
Attendees will leave with a practical roadmap, sample logic, and design considerations to implement or improve an M365-based sustainable assessment infrastructure.

Westcliff University developed mission-aligned AI tools for working adults, international learners, and first-generation students. This session shows how institutional research revealed limitations in off-the-shelf AI and led to custom solutions emphasizing personalization, equity, and student-centered learning. Participants will explore Westcliff’s design framework, ethical implementation strategies, and real-world impact. They will leave with replicable tools, actionable plans, and a practical model for integrating AI with human connection across diverse learning environments.

Our presentation will explore two main questions: i) How are different campus constituencies currently using AI tools for their work and what are their main areas of concern? ii) What are some common elements in AI policy and data governance policy across different institutions? In this presentation, we will highlight common generative AI tools used, concerns expressed and provide resources and best practices to help implement AI policy at an institutional level.
