Bio
Leigh Harris is the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Education Initiatives in UCLA’s Division of Undergraduate Education. Leigh has expertise in building interdisciplinary academic programs, inclusive pedagogy and educational assessment. With her colleagues in Undergraduate Education Initiatives, she facilitates partnerships with faculty and departments across campus to build innovative programs for undergraduates, including a newly launched major in Disability Studies. She also contributes to administrative leadership for shared governance committees. Leigh is the former Director of UCLA Writing Programs and her teaching has been recognized on campus with a Distinguished Teaching award. Leigh received her Ph.D. in English from Yale University and has three years of international experience working as an Assistant Dean for educational enrichment at the American College in Athens, Greece. In her spare time Leigh enjoys subjecting her family and friends to her experimental vegan cooking.
