Dr. Rui Sun is the Faculty Director of Assessment for Academic Affairs, Professor of Public Administration, and Director of the Public Policy Institute at California State University, Dominguez Hills. Her research focuses on fiscal federalism, citizen engagement in local government budgeting, and fiscal health and sustainability of local governments. She is also interested in interdisciplinary research on social media utilization, education policy and innovation, and environmental justice policy. Dr. Sun has more than 15 years of experience in face-to-face and online teaching and is committed to High Impact Practices that encourage students to be lifelong learners. She plays leadership roles in professional organizations and currently serves as the President of the Southern California Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA).
