Carolyn Gubala has a PhD in Rhetoric with a focus on professional and technical communication. Before pursuing graduate studies, Carolyn worked in publishing for more than a decade. As a teacher and scholar, she is interested in field-wide programmatic and pedagogical studies. Carolyn is currently working on a collaborative book project to improve pedagogical practices for teaching professional technical communication service courses using student data, instructor feedback, and interviews with teaching faculty and program administrators. The project will offer suggestions on improving pedagogical practices such as outcome integration, assignment design, revision, and feedback.
