Alignments: Bridging Institutional and Programmatic Assessment for a Cohesive Educational Experience
Description

This presentation will demonstrate how a comprehensive programmatic assessment process, aligned with institutionally mandated program reviews, can enhance student learning assessment systems. Using NewSchool's National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) accreditation process as a case study, it will highlight emerging trends in assessment-driven approaches to programmatic accreditation. The presentation will showcase specific examples of faculty-led initiatives to identify best practices and address curricular achievement gaps.

Drawing on data from over 80 outcome-based assessment cycles for NAAB-accredited Bachelor and Master of Architecture programs (2023/2024), this session will explore key findings, challenges, and implications for teaching and assessment practices. It will also provide insights into how institutional support can foster effective, faculty-driven assessment initiatives.

Attendees will gain practical strategies for implementing these processes at their own institutions.
