Academic degree programs often feel a strong sense of affiliation and urgency to their disciplinary accreditation bodies. However, degree programs are part of the campus community, integral in advancing the institution’s mission, vision, and values and therefore benefit from participating in local program review processes.
This session shares perspectives from three California State University campuses that are at different stages of integrating disciplinary accreditation into their program review processes. Presenters will discuss the rationale for developing such processes, how they are operationalized including challenges, lessons learned, and closing the loop efforts to maximize meaningful and manageable program review while affirming the value of disciplinary accreditation.
