ARC2025 Closing Plenary - From Learning to Leading: Fostering Civic Engagement for Student Success and Community Impact
Description

Featuring California’s Chief Service Officer, Josh Fryday, and WSCUC institutional leaders and students, ARC2025’s closing plenary will explore how civic engagement can serve as a transformative force in higher education—helping students bridge passion and profession while addressing critical workforce needs and societal challenges.

The conversation will highlight the #CaliforniansForAll College Corps program as a model for fostering civic-minded leaders, enabling students to graduate with less debt, and strengthening California’s communities through mission-aligned service. Panelists will discuss strategies for preparing young people for the workforce, breaking down barriers to opportunity, and ensuring that colleges and universities serve as catalysts for social good.

Whether based in California or beyond, attendees will gain insights into how institutions can act independently or in collaboration to integrate service into the student experience, measure the outcomes of civic engagement, and create sustainable pathways for student success and community impact.
