The importance of intentional community building and activism in today's sociopolitical environment cannot be emphasized enough. With laws changing, and constant attacks against people (body, mind, and spirit), policies, processes, institutions, and higher education as a whole, we need to come together and co-create action plans for our own, our students, and our peers' well-being.
Concrete action and resistance matter now more than ever. But what would that look like in unsafe places? What could empowered and liberatory work look like right now in our professional roles and spaces? How can we use our agency to civically engage as professionals--in and through academic assessment, program review, student affairs assessment, and institutional DEI offices serving justice? How would our work be transformed if we stood up for and infused democratic values in our work?
We don't necessarily have all the answers but look forward to the opportunity to get together and learn from each other. Join us!
