W. Kenneth Nelson, MD, MS, is Director of Institutional Effectiveness at Loma Linda University, where he has also served as a faculty member in the School of Allied Health Professions for the past 19 years. A graduate of WSCUC’s Assessment Leadership Academy, Dr. Nelson is dedicated to advancing evidence-based approaches to student success and institutional improvement.
Recognized nationally for his expertise in data visualization in higher education, Dr. Nelson has led workshops and presented for Microsoft Higher Education at academic and professional forums. Before joining Loma Linda University, he spent 25 years as medical director for a health education NGO, directing global health initiatives and leadership development programs.
He holds a medical degree and a master’s in health professions education.
