Bart has been with West Coast University for over 12 years and is currently the University Dean of Student Experience.  He holds a doctoral degree in Sport Behavior from West Virginia University, and two master’s degrees – one in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, and a second in Counseling from West Virginia University.  He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of California at San Diego.  He is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant, in which his areas of interest include youth sport education, performance enhancement training (e.g., goal setting, imagery, performance anxiety), self-confidence, psychological aspects of injury and rehabilitation, substance abuse issues, supervision and training, and graduate training.  He has experience working with youth, high school, college, and professional athletes.  He has taught courses in the exercise sciences (i.e., exercise physiology, motor learning and development, and psychology aspects of injury), and statistics as well as counseling related courses (i.e., counseling skills, life-span development, and substance abuse).  He is the co-author of the book Training Professionals in the Practice of Sport Psychology.
