Miriam has a PhD in Education (specialization in Educational Psychology, and Learning and Instruction), a Masters of Public Health and a Bachelors in Sociology; all from the University of California, Los Angeles. She has been the Academic Dean at West Coast University for the last 18 years. She was on the adjunct faculty of California State University, Northridge and the LA Community College district where she taught courses to students who were becoming teachers on teaching health education, and diversity courses. She shows dogs for a hobby to gain some work-life balance.
