Bio

Dr. Anna Aboud joined Westmont College as an assistant professor of mathematics in 2019,  bringing a well-rounded pedagogical perspective informed by all levels of the educational system. She earned her undergraduate degree in mathematics and German at Wheaton College, after which she went on to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching and to teach secondary mathematics and English. While earning her PhD in mathematics at Iowa State University, she became involved in educational research, developing curriculum and assessing the impact of particular active learning structures within the undergraduate mathematics classroom. She has also been extensively involved in K-6 mathematics, including serving as an elementary mathematics consultant, teaching mathematics content courses for future teachers, and running a variety of elementary outreach programs. Dr. Aboud currently serves as chair of the Westmont Mathematics and Computer Science Department where she supports the growth and development of the Computer Science, Mathematics, and Data Analytics majors.
