John Ly joined the University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu in October 2012 as an IT Specialist. In the past 10 years, John has transitioned from the front-facing help desk supervisor to the Applications & Database lead. Prior to West Oʻahu, John worked as an End User Specialist at his alma mater, McKinley High School, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Information Computer Science at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in 2004 as a first-generation college student in his family. John works with a variety of departments on campus ranging from Communications (to maintain the university website) and Enrollment Management (for data gathering from the university SIS and integration of new technology).
