Presentation 1 Title
Driving Continuous Improvement through KPIs-based Performance Contracts
Presentation 1 Description

Continuous quality enhancement of educational programs, student support services, and governance at all levels, requires a systematic process to assign and quantitatively assess various key performance indicators (KPIs) against specified targets, followed by appropriate corrective action plans for all unachieved KPIs. In 2018, Ajman University introduced Performance Contracts (PCs), comprising of a set of KPIs with associated targets, that are signed at the beginning of each academic year by all Deans, Directors/Managers, Cabinet members and the Chancellor. The PCs are assessed at the end of the academic year, and corrective action plans, for all unachieved KPIs, as well as improvement action plans are devised for continuous improvement of all colleges and offices. The presentation explains this practice and demonstrates its effectiveness for continuous quality enhancement.

Data Voyaging: Building Faculty and Staff Leadership in Institutional Data, Analysis, and Action Research through a Data Fellows Program
Presentation 2 Description

This presentation will share how the University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu developed a Data Fellows program to lead campus action research and provide professional development in institutional data collection, analysis, and dissemination with a team of fellows representing faculty and staff from across the institution. The fellows are mentored by campus leaders as they address a campus identified Problem of Practice, such as enrollment management, and identify several possible solutions through their in-depth research and analysis of disaggregated data. We will share the details of our approach to developing and implementing the data fellowship program as a promising means of increasing evidence-based, strategic decision making on campus.
