David Omut has over 12 years of experience in the Medical Simulation field, including as Simulation Program Manager for American Career College. His focus was working with VN, RN, and allied health students using an interdisciplinary approach. David had also been a long time part of the Southern California Simulation Collaborative, and participated in many of the IMSH events from the Society of Simulation in Healthcare. As the Los Angeles area Laerdal representative, he was able to witness best practices and deepen his technical knowledge. David was also involved in the Career Technical Education (CTE) project for Los Angeles Unified School District which created 5 Sim Labs in the Los Angeles area to create a pipeline of high school students into the medical field. Lastly, he is the Director of Interprofessional Education and Simulation at American University of Health Sciences (AUHS) for over 3 years, working with ALL students in an inter-professional manner with the goal of student success.
