Julie Wilhelm is Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for the School of Arts, Letters, and Sciences at National University. In this role, she oversees school curricular development and assessment, leads the General Education Division, collaborations on student retention efforts, and coordinates academic program development. In her former role, she taught American literature and served as the academic program director for the B.A. in English Program at National University. As both faculty and Associate Dean, she has focused on improving the alignment and assessment of general education in the context of a primarily online, adult-serving institution. In addition to being a WSCUC Assessment Leadership Academy graduate (Cohort X), she holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Davis. She is the co-editor of Teaching Literature in the Online Classroom, published by the MLA in 2022, and has published many articles on nineteenth-century American domestic fiction.
