Dr Silvia Neves specializes in faculty professional development and service to Latinx students towards higher education success. She is the director of Project CHESS (Collaborative for Hispanics in Higher Education and Student Success), a collaborative Title V grant that builds the bridge between California Lutheran University and Moorpark College to address the needs of transfer students and historically underrepresented men of color. Project CHESS has established the collaboration between a community college and a four-year university to improve course design that implements culturally relevant practices, articulation, and a program for men of color that has expanded to serve students at Oxnard College.
