Jane DeWitt, Ph.D. is the Associate Dean of Academic Planning at San Francisco state University. She oversees assessment, accreditation, program review and curriculum at the university. She enjoys helping faculty develop curricular programs and solving curricular problems. Dr. DeWitt started at SF State as faculty in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and was chair of the department for nine years before moving to her current position. She taught intro level general chemistry courses and loved best the evaluations in which students said that they actually learned a lot and discovered they like chemistry.
