Hien Park is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Assistant Director of Research at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa. She received an MPA degree from the University of Washington and a Ph.D. in Sociology from UC-Irvine. Her research interests are immigrant communities and the immigrant/refugee adaptations over the life course. Aside from her research emphasis, she enjoys teaching research design and methods, introduction to behavioral statistics, and research practicum. She also enjoys attending regional conferences and presenting her studies, but her real joy is in accompanying her students to conferences and mentoring student presentations of their own empirical studies. She is the faculty advisor to a number of student clubs at Vanguard, including VU Leap and One Voice.
