Dr. Haco Hoang is Professor and Chair of Political Science, and holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Boston University. She was a Fulbright Scholar and Visiting Research Associate at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies in Singapore. She received two major research grants for a study on civic engagement and environmental justice in farmworker communities. Dr. Hoang teaches courses related to global issues, development, gender, and public policy. She was also a policy analyst in Los Angeles on education and budget issues, and has been a policy consultant on projects related to female gangs, youth civic engagement, and neighborhood councils for the City of Los Angeles. She is currently working on a research project funded by the American Political Science Association and National Science Foundation related to Title IX and the Me, Too Movement.
