Dr. Ellen Baker Derwin is the Interim Associate Vice Chancellor for the Office of Institutional Assessment and Planning, Associate Dean for Curriculum and Assurance of Learning in the School of Arts and Sciences, and a Professor of Communications at the University of Massachusetts Global, a private nonprofit affiliate of the University of Massachusetts system. She holds a Ph.D. in psychology, with an emphasis in media, from Fielding Graduate University and a Master’s degree in Social Ecology from the University of CA at Irvine. Her expertise includes facilitating faculty collaboration on program reviews, program assessments, and signature assignment/rubric design. She oversees continuous improvement, curriculum development, and the assessment cycle for associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s level programs. She is passionate about faculty development and innovation in higher education. Ellen serves as a site evaluator and substantive change committee co-chair for WSCUC. She is also an alumna of the WASC Leadership Academy.
