WSCUC’s Standard 1 speaks to institutions’ responsibility to serve society and the public good. Civic learning is a path to “realizing the new standards,” ARC2023’s theme, and has been shown to support learning, retention and graduation while preparing students for lifelong  community roles and democratic engagement.
