Former West Virginia Governor Bob Wise has spent his career advancing education. After serving 24 years as governor, US Representative, and state legislator,  Wise was CEO for the Alliance for Excellent Education, a national nonprofit working to improve high schools. Formerly an attorney, he applies his legal and political experience to showing government and education leaders how to gain public support for transforming education. He is cofounder of the Global Science of Learning Education Network (GSoLEN), advisory board member of the University of California San Francisco Dyslexia Center, and active with Chartwell School and its Chartwell Teaching Institute in Monterey, CA.  For six years, he chaired the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and recently completed serving two terms as a public commissioner for the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).
