Mary Streit, PhD earned her doctorate in Applied Psychology from Hofstra University, and her undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University. Currently, she is a full-time faculty member in the JFK School of Psychology and Social Sciences where she serves as the Academic Program Director for the General Psychology degree. She also co-chairs the Research and Grants Committee and works with students as the faculty liaison for the Department of Psychology Student Advisory Council.  Professor Streit has extensive expertise as a researcher, conducting program evaluation research, focus group and survey research, and numerous quantitative studies in varied settings. She has published and presented articles on subjects such as auditory integration training, facilitated communication, time-management, goal setting, social loafing/facilitation, using videos in online asynchronous classes, work-life balance, and most recently, boundary setting and the sustainability of remote employment over time. Professor Streit states that she is a teacher at heart, passionate about creating lively and engaging curriculum to stimulate learning and critical thinking. Dr. Streit is also a licensed psychologist in the state of NY where she conducts psychological evaluations, provides career counseling, and offers life coaching for individuals who struggle with work life balance, parenting, and other related issues. She is an active member of the American Psychological Association.
