From Mission to Mechanism: Building Hawaiʻi’s AI Operating System for Higher Education
Presentation 1 Description

The University of Hawaiʻi is designing a values-based AI Operating System—a dynamic framework that unites mission, governance, and innovation across campuses to bring coherence to higher education’s approach to AI. Grounded in authenticity, responsibility, and perseverance, it connects leadership vision with campus action through five pillars and a systemwide Community of Practice. This model treats AI not as a project but as a system of stewardship, turning values into architecture for human-centered transformation.
