Developing a strategic plan is relatively simple compared to implementing the plan and tracking its progress on a large campus. Navigating multiple divisions and colleges, coordinating numerous initiatives, and balancing diverse interests requires an aligned and systematic institutional approach. To address these challenges, California State University, Fullerton adopted a data-driven approach through its campuswide assessment process to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment with the strategic plan. Technology was leveraged to streamline the measurement and reporting of impact. More importantly, the continuous improvement mindset continues to be institutionalized to ensure the strategic plan’s progress is tracked in a meaningful and transparent way.
