Learn about a new model of higher education that has been created and accredited and is now being implemented. Join Antioch President, Lori Varlotta, to hear about the Coalition for the Common Good (CCG)--co founded by Antioch and Otterbein Universities to address challenges and leverage opportunities of the day. The CCG is configured to keep member institutions sustainable, provide additional course offerings and graduate pathways to undergraduate students, and build a shared service organization.

Members of the Center for Higher Education Mergers and Acquisitions recently published, ‘Leading Existential Change in Higher Education: Mergers, Closures and other Major Institutional Restructuring’ (JHU Press, 2025). Through leader interviews, data analysis, and case studies we analyzed the factors leading to considering and undertaking mergers and acquisitions as future-oriented growth strategies in higher education. We will provide an overview of strategies considered, tactics undertaken, and lessons learned to provide guidance to higher ed leaders
