As Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to reshape the educational landscape, traditional lecture-based pedagogy is becoming increasingly insufficient. Today’s students actively use AI-powered tools to accelerate learning, generate content, and develop new skills for professional growth. In this context, experiential learning, which emphasizes active engagement, reflection, and real-world application, emerges as a vital approach to ensure both relevance and impact.
This symposium explores how experiential learning can be reimagined in AI-enhanced education settings. Drawing upon Kolb’s four-stage learning cycle, participants will engage in discussions and reflective activities that highlight the unique benefits, challenges, and opportunities of embedding experiential practices into higher education curricula.
Prof. Cobanoglu will share research insights and institutional strategies from Virscend University’s MBA program, where experiential learning is embedded through internships, service learning, global projects, and simulations. Complementing this perspective, MBA students Sinan Baran Bayar and Yagiz Efe Bulbul will share first-hand experiences, offering the student view of how AI-enabled experiential learning fosters critical thinking, adaptability, and professional readiness. Their perspectives will provide a valuable bridge between faculty innovation and learner impact.
By integrating interactive dialogue, student voices, and collaborative reflection, this session invites participants to co-create strategies for overcoming barriers such as equity in access, faculty readiness, and assessment of experiential outcomes.
