Building a Culture of Assessment for Non-Academic Departments
Description

This workshop will show how Palo Alto University used an Annual Assessment Summit to promote assessment within non-academic departments (e.g., Admissions, Student Success, and Registrar) to drive mission-aligned continuous improvement at the university. The summit helped the departments see how their goals align with the university’s mission and how their success goals can be articulated and measured. The ideas from this summit can increase department leadership buy-in, inform them of assessment updates, and discuss student success outcome (SSO) assessment issues. By building a culture of assessment, an assessment summit can promote increased engagement to identify and collect SSO for accreditation and department continuous improvement.
