Educators as Leaders in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI) : Shaping the AI Landscape and Training Students and Faculty in the Ethical Use of AI
Description
The topic of AI in higher education is on the forefront of our minds. Educational institutions can and should chose to lead in the development of AI and in its practical and ethical applications. Actionable steps to securing funding and staffing an AI lab on university campuses will be discussed. Also, a framework and suggested policies for handling cases of plagiarism related to the use of AI will be presented. Special attention will be given to understanding the difference between the use of Assistive versus Generative AI in student work.
