Carolyn Sloane Mata is a higher education consultant working mostly with private, not-for-profit colleges and their Associations. Bringing 15 years of higher education experience as a faculty member, college administrator, and association executive, her expertise lies in the areas of policy, institutional research, and institutional effectiveness. She has served as a National IPEDS Educator since 2016 where she develops, revises and leads many of their workshops. Carolyn served as Vice President for Research for the Georgia Independent College Association for 8 years – and continues there as a consultant. She has additionally served as Director of Research for the North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities since 2017. Most recently she acted as Vice President for Research and Planning for Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA. These days she has a robust client list under the areas of institutional research, policy, training, data governance, data documentation and institutional effectiveness including institutions, associations, foundations and accreditors.
