Dr. Angela Baldasare serves as NU’s Deputy Chief of Staff and Vice President for Strategic Institutional Research and Planning. Dr. Baldasare has more than 20 years’ experience in applied research in higher education student success. During her 8 years at the University of Arizona, she provided leadership on student success strategy resulting in historic improvements to retention and graduation rates. From 2012- 2014 she served as PI on two federal HHS ACF grants providing financial education and matched educational savings accounts for college-eligible high school students. Dr. Baldasare has delivered program evaluation on numerous grants from US HHS and DOJ as well as the Arizona Governor’s Office and has consulted for dozens of US colleges and universities. Her recent projects have focused on using impact measurement to identify interventions that promote equitable student outcomes, the use of prescriptive analytics and impact predictions to optimize student success, and how advancements in natural language processing are transforming applied student success research.
