Dr. Ron Rogers is the Vice Provost for Academic Innovation & Institutional Effectiveness at San José State University.
Prior to this position, Dr. Rogers served as Interim Vice Provost and worked with teams across campus to implement SJSU Online with the mission to expand higher education access and degree attainment for the adult learner community. The special session degree completion programs offered through SJSU Online meet these potential graduates where they are, offering flexible 100% online pathways for degree attainment focused on the needs of the working learner.
Before joining the Provost’s Office, Dr. Rogers served as Associate Dean in the College of Social Sciences (2016-21) and as Professor and Chair in the Department of Psychology (2011-16). He has been a member of the faculty at SJSU since 1999. Dr. Rogers received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology from Rutgers University (1992, 1995) and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz (1989). Before coming to SJSU, he served as a postdoctoral research fellow in Behavioral Neuroscience at Indiana University, Bloomington (1995-1999).
