Students as Partners: Leveraging Learning Models to Advance Assessment
Description

The assessment world suffers from no shortage of tasks and frequently understaffed teams. Where can we find support that is sustainable and fulfilling for all parties? Student input is critical to assessment, but students also bring assets as partners in the work of assessment. Moreover, students who contribute to assessment engage in high-impact practices for their own learning. In this talk, we frame assessment projects as an opportunity for students to develop data literacy and research skills in response to the trends in the workforce. This presentation highlights two models for engaging students in assessment, to leverage their experiences and skills as well as prepare them as successful future professionals.
