RIDLE Me This: An Innovative Faculty Learning Community (FLC) Model Closing Equity Gaps In Undergraduate Bottleneck Courses
Description
Many institutions consider faculty development programs as a way to grow their faculty knowledge in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and demonstrate how they value inclusivity. These programs are often challenged due to lack of time, motivation, and sustainability. There is limited research and more evidence is needed to demonstrate their effectiveness. This session will talk about the data-driven impact of one such program called ‘RIDLE’ at a Hispanic Serving R1 University and how it helped in closing equity gaps and with institutional effectiveness. This work is part of WSCUC’s Accreditation Leadership Academy (ALA) cohort 13 and contributed to the ALA 3E Framework of Equity, Evidence, and Effectiveness.
