Artificial intelligence (AI) is having a major impact on our world, and it is essential for students to learn about it. However, many students may feel intimidated by AI or lack the knowledge or confidence to discuss it intelligently. This presentation will present a case study of a successful AI initiative implemented at the Academy of Art University to facilitate active and engaged classroom discussions about AI, regardless of students' prior knowledge or experience. The presentation will begin with an overview of the Academy of Art University and department AI overview and policy initiative, including its goals, implementation, and outcomes. The presentation will include interactive video insights from student and faculty interviews, as well as student responses to an AI discussion topic. The presentation will conclude with a discussion of the implications of this case study for other educational institutions.
