Name
Student Partners in Assessment: Great Idea, but How?
Description
Including students throughout the assessment cycle is a tenet of equity-minded assessment, but one that many institutions have yet to implement. Upholding students as genuine partners requires intentional shifts in power dynamics. Our session will support assessment leaders in putting student partnership principles into practice, starting with situating an initial partnership effort and addressing challenges as a partnership effort develops. We will share brief vignettes of partnering with students in assessment at our respective institutions, ranging from targeted approaches to large-scale programs. In a breakout activity, you will articulate your own goals for partnering with students and consider pathways for implementation.
