The focus of this presentation is to discuss our institutional strategic initiatives and to showcase an institutional case specific to a local and regional context, and to describe the outlook of our "big picture" to provide advanced learning opportunities for our students and surrounding Pacific Island communities. Speakers will present the case for using institutional demographic data to tell the evidence story of the diverse student population we serve. This evidence can propel continuous improvements and illuminate the need for growth in programs and systems of assessment of teaching and learning.

Facilitating the Conversation: Using Technology to Bring Diversity into Student Learning Outcomes Discussions
Presentation 2 Description

Assessing achievement of learning outcomes goes beyond how well a student does on a given exam or quiz. Student learning outcomes are inextricably linked to the students themselves, and as such, who they are matters when discussing achievement of student learning outcomes. This session will demonstrate how the University of California – Riverside is using student demographics and technology to facilitate discussions of achievement that are linked to diversity and equity.
