Universities are supposed to continuously evaluate and improve student success programs (Standard 4, CFRs 1-5). However, unless institutions define measures of success and identify the needed quantitative and qualitative information to monitor the quality of planning and implementation throughout the process, they will fall short of executing a meaningful, actionable evaluation to inform improvement efforts. This session describes how one university employed the Deliverology approach during the planning and implementation phases of an inclusive, equity-oriented student success initiative to identify and resolve challenges on an ongoing basis, measure impact, and assess effectiveness. This approach ensured an initiative that was clearly defined, implemented with fidelity, and efficaciously invested university resources to better serve students.
